What’s in a Street Name?
It took me a lot of time and research to come up with my children’s names. I wrote them, read them aloud, looked up the meanings, and thought about the disrespectful school children they may encounter.
The “Street Naming Committee” would not be for me! However, I’m not sure that they feel the same way as I do about research.
Did they think things through? How the names would look written or sound if spoken?

In Springfield, VA we have Backlick, and in Fairfax, VA we have Pope’s Head. Two of the best street names around.
There was a street called Four Wheel Drive in Pittsburgh. The sign was stolen on a regular basis.
