House Love
It’s overwhelming looking for the house to call your home. How will you know when its the right one?
- You’ve seen the masses of signs – there is a lot of inventory out there right now.
- You’ve surfed the internet with the parameters that you’d like to find (ie: particular area, school district, close commute time to work, minimum amount of bedrooms, etc.).
- You’ve looked through the pictures provided in the online listings.
Now what? Call your Buyer Agent, don’t waste time calling each and every name on the signs – call one person who will work for you (not seller -and- you) and schedule appointments for the houses that look interesting to you.
When you get to the adventure of seeing the houses in person – you’ll know when a house turns into the potential home you’ve been looking for.![]()
It’s a feeling. Picture Benji coming running up the sidewalk to greet you. The friends gathering to watch football. The dining room that welcomes the extended family. The sun room you can picture adding onto the back for the quiet sips of coffee in the morning. Feel it.
It’s called House Love. Some say it’s love at first sight. Some say it takes a couple of visits and drive bys to ensure the feeling of love they felt was the House Love and not just a House Crush.
If you don’t feel it – move on. You will. It’s just like People Love. You know when its the right one.

This emotion is true
Great post! It’s true, you’ll know HOUSE LOVE immediately!
It may take time, or it can take on visit to find the right home. It’s so important to have someone to guide a buyer to what’s best for them, rather then the seller.
It’s love at first site!

Stephen – I just quoted this to some buyers yesterday “You’ll just know.”
Kim, The buyer I’m working with this weekend fell in love yesterday. We are going back to look again today, because as she said, the only criteria this house matches of her requirements is that it’s single level! (It also has a great backyard, which was on her wish list.) It’s funny because, we hadn’t even gotten to the front door and she was knowing the house was special to her. It is a feeling – she could imagine herself starting the day in the front courtyard, and entertaining friends out by the pool.
[...] 4. Go Away- Most buyers will agree it is a lot more comfortable when sellers are not present during home showings. They are more free to look and it’s easier for them to come away with the feeling of House Love. [...]
